About the Role

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a leading Renewable Energy Developer with a diverse technology portfolio (wind, storage and emerging technologies).  Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide experienced, commercially-focused legal support across its UK platform.

This role sits as a Lead in‑house Lawyer, acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership, embedded in the business, providing both strategic and day-to-day legal support that manages  legal risk, transactions, projects and external stakeholders.

Key Focus

  • Development, construction and operational contracts across multiple Renewables technologies;
  • Land agreements (options, leases, servitudes, easements and wayleaves);
  • Project acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and investments;
  • Advising project teams on legal risk and contract strategy;
  • EPC, O&M, grid, consultancy and framework agreements; and
  • Advising senior stakeholders and managing external counsel.

About You

  • Scottish‑qualified solicitor with 4+ years’ relevant PQE;
  • Strong commercial and/or corporate background;
  • Renewables, energy or infrastructure experience preferred (but other sectors considered);
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering contracts beneficial;
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach;
  • Confident, pragmatic and commercially minded, with the ability to manage stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
