About the Role
Are you an experienced Chartered Ecologist who enjoys the dynamic of team leadership whilst also keeping hands-on with technical work? We are seeking a Midlands regional Ecology Team Leader to inspire, manage, and significantly grow a talented team of ecologists, delivering an increasing market share of fascinating projects.

The Role:
As the Midlands Team Lead, you will be at the forefront of a growing regional ecology team, balancing leadership, business development, and driving technical standards. You will lead by example, guiding your team to deliver high-quality ecological services while fostering new opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships. You won't be alone though, you'll be a part of a national team of ca 100 Ecologists across a dozen offices and form part of the Ecology management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Development: Mentor and inspire the team, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Oversee staff development, timesheet signoff, and pastoral care.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning as a trusted partner.
- Project Leadership: Provide expert ecological input from initial consultation through to delivery, supporting junior project managers and ensuring high standards.
- Technical Expertise: Offer high-level technical guidance, ensuring projects meet regulatory and environmental compliance. Contribute to planning committees, inquiries, and Expert Witness evidence.
- Business Growth: Contribute to the strategic development of the Nature department and wider business. Lead and support technical elements of bids, tenders, and framework opportunities.
Requirements:
- An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline
- Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
- Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist
- Demonstrable industry experience and capability to fulfil the role
- Full driving licence
