Notice Periods

Notice periods are weird times, aren't they?! Often the longer they go on for, the weirder they get. There might be a range of reactions from your colleagues, from sudden renewed interest in your thoughts on everything to total rejection, you could become a social outcast and/or the subject of all gossip, and your emotions might range from anxiety, apathy, to a sense of freedom.

Leaving a job is a bittersweet time, and it can be a challenge to remain productive and professional until the very last day. I've been having a think about how you can keep calm and carry on during your final weeks:

- 🗓Plan Ahead: Ensure all your tasks are up to date and work on a handover document to ease the transition to your successor. This shows responsibility and consideration.
- 📞Keep Communication Open: Be clear about your leaving plans and continue to communicate clearly about ongoing projects. Open communication fosters trust and ensures continuity.
- 🖥Stay Focused: Resist the urge to mentally check-out. Staying engaged and performing at your best leaves a lasting positive impression.
- 🌟Be Appreciative: Take the time to thank colleagues and management. This will go a long way in maintaining professional relationships.
- ✍️Finish Strong: Ensure you complete any outstanding work. Don't leave them thinking you left with unfinished business.

Remember, the final impression you leave is often the lasting one.
