About the Role
Are you an expereinced Infrastructure Planner ready to shape the future of infrastructure and tackle some of the world’s most complex challenges? Your expertise will contribute to transformative projects across energy, water, rail, highways, and aviation sectors.
As a Principal Infrastructure Planner, you will be at the forefront of planning, consenting, and delivering major infrastructure schemes, working alongside a diverse team of engineers, environmental experts, and communication specialists. Our client’s Infrastructure Planners leverage extensive knowledge in various consenting regimes, such as Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Act, Town and Country Planning Act, and the Electricity Act, to secure the necessary consents for high profile projects. This role involves leading the consenting process through feasibility, pre-application, examination, and implementation phases. Additionally, you will influence planning reforms by collaborating with public and private sector clients on legislative, policy, and practice changes. With offices across the UK, our client offers the flexibility to choose your preferred office location and work on a hybrid basis, ensuring a balanced work-life integration. To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A degree and/or master’s in Town Planning and membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant planning legislation and policy.
- Experience in producing outputs for infrastructure consenting or planning policy development, such as consents strategies and application documents.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with town planners and other disciplines, both within an organisation and in external forums, including business development and successful bidding for work.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex issues, write reports, present effectively, and manage client relationships.
- Demonstrated project management skills with a track record in planning and delivering projects or tasks.
